Supporter recognition
Our work would not be possible without the help of our volunteers who bring their enthusiasm and commitment to a range of roles, from fundraising to transporting cancer patients to treatment facilities.
Each month we acknowledge the volunteers who demonstrate our core values of we build connections, we make a difference, we stand up and speak out, and we are continuously exploring.
March 2024 volunteer recognitions
Name | Value/s | Nominator | Reason |
Caitlin Thirlwell | We make a difference | Vanessa Ng | Thank you to Caitlin for coming along and supporting the Great Ocean Pool Crawl 2024 Event! Your assistance on the day made the biggest difference and it is always amazing to have you come along to help out at our events. Thanks for being someone who not only rolls up their sleeves to help, but who brings a positive attitude to the day. We could not do it without you! |
Dennis Simpson | We make a difference | Jaynie Moloney | Dennis’ knowledge of our ABMT campaign and it’s long term supporters is second to none, and he is such a huge reason that our hosts have such a strong relationship with us personally. He is personable, fun and kind and we love having him as part of our office team! |
Forrest Preston | We make a difference | Vanessa Ng | Thank you to Forrest for coming along and supporting the Great Ocean Pool Crawl 2024 Event! Your assistance on the day made the biggest difference and I appreciate that you are always so willing to put your hand up to help out. We could not do it without you! |
John Salmon | We make a difference | Fiona Markwick | John’s support is invaluable in keeping things running smoothly in our Dubbo transport service (like many of our drivers). Managing a T2T service 1.5 hours away can have it’s challenges. John goes above and beyond to help out. Whether it be dropping a car in for a service, organising a car park sign to be erected, guiding other drivers how to use the car phones and pins to get into the phones. Thank you John! |
Karen Talbot | We make a difference | Angelique Gellert | A T2T client needed a ride home and his scheduled driver wasn’t available. Karen jumped in at the very last minute and took on the trip. Thank you Karen for being a flexible and dedicated member of the T2T team and for all the work you do on the service. You made my job a lot easier today, and most importantly of all, got our client home after his treatment. |
Patricia Williams | We stand up and speak out | Fiona Markwick | Trish steps and speaks out when needed to in her volunteer driver role for our Orange T2T service. Whether it be checking in on communication that has gone out or persisting with new ways of working, for example, iPhones rather than android phones used in the transport car. Thank you Trish! |
Sherryl Overend | We make a difference | Kimberly Mitlehner | A big thank you to Sherryl for providing great assistance and support at the Seniors Festival Health and Wellbeing Expo. Thank you for volunteering your time to help spread awareness of bowel, breast and cervical screening. You did an amazing job!! |
Yuqi Ouyang | We make a difference | Helen Tran | Yuqi completed a well-written research proposal, which was a university assignment as part of her internship. She asked plenty of questions, made some great recommendations and was able to capture the barriers to survivorship care very well and in a limited timeframe. |
